Savina Giannatou and the ensemble Primavera en Salonico, in collaboration with Tunisian singer Lamia Bedioui, present the concert Watersong on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 20:30, at the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall of the Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall, as part of the Bridges series.
Water, at times silent and at times expressive, life-giving or threatening, stands as one of the most powerful symbols of human existence. In Watersong, it becomes the starting point for a musical journey that touches upon life and death, fertility, memory, desire, and purification.
Songs about rain, the sea, rivers, and tears, about water within the body and the body within water, form a multi-layered sonic landscape. Traditional and Renaissance songs from different countries enter into dialogue, weaving stories around the power of water – its ability to create, transform, and also take away.

Alongside Savina Giannatou and Primavera en Salonico, Lamia Bedioui brings the world of the desert, enriching the musical narrative with the distinctive timbre and expressiveness of her voice, adding another cultural dimension. The sound unfolds through a rich combination of instruments – oud, qanun, ney, violin, accordion, double bass, percussion, and waterphone – where tradition meets free improvisation.
The concert was first presented at the Little Theatre of Epidaurus in 2020, as part of the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, and is based on the album of the same title by Savina Giannatou and Primavera en Salonico, released by ECM.
An atmospheric and deeply evocative musical experience, where water becomes sound, memory, and poetry.
