What began as a playful street photography project with ceramic works in Omonia Square last April soon unfolded into something deeper-a new artistic narrative. The resulting images are not just documentation: they are emotionally charged photographs that spark reflection on coexistence, diversity, and what keeps us apart from truly enjoying one another.
In this exhibition, 12 photographs, printed on Fine Art paper and mounted on 3mm Dibond, will be presented as CO-EXISTENCE Vol. II by photographer Evangelia Koumantsioti. Everyday life meets ceramics in unexpected ways: a piece of clay carried down the metro escalator, lifted high above fish stalls in Varvakeios Market, used as a measuring scoop in a nut shop, or held like a trophy in the hand of a passer-by.
The lens captures not only the interaction between objects and people, but also the living atmosphere of Omonia-multicultural, noisy, radiant, alive. This distinctive light of the city, made up of its buildings, its textures, a few pigeons, and above all, its people, becomes part of the story.

Born in 1998 in Paleochori, Chalkidiki, Koumantsioti grew up attuned to nature and detail, later studying Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University. As a videographer and traveler, she draws inspiration from encounters with different cultures, infusing her work with a multicultural essence.
“Through these images, I seek to show how art, everyday life, and cultural exchange can merge into a single frame,” she says.
Curated by Stavroula Chorinou, founder of Tales in Tiles experience store, CO-EXISTENCE Vol. II takes the idea of ceramics in the urban landscape one step further into an autonomous photography exhibition. A step closer to coexistence. Not just peacefully. Beautifully.
The exhibition is curated by Stavroula Chorinou, founder of Tales in Tiles experience store in Athens. For the past four years, Tales in Tiles has promoted ceramics and contemporary art as a means of connection, bringing people together to share not only ideas but also values, at a time when they are most needed.
While its daily focus is on ceramics, offering workshops to introduce audiences to this ancient yet ever-joyful art, Tales in Tiles also embraces other artistic forms. Through exhibitions, events, and its concept store, it represents and supports a wide community of artists.
