The Breeder is excited to announce that Georgia Sagri’s new sculptures, Sitting with my Breath, will be showcased at the group exhibition “KölnSkulptur #11 – Body Manoeuvres“. This is an opportunity to experience the artist’s work in a public setting.
For more than 25 years, Skulpturenpark Köln has been exhibiting sculptures by outstanding contemporary artists such as Mary Bauermeister, Louise Bourgeois, Ayşe Erkmen, Peter Fischli / David Weiss, Dan Graham, Jenny Holzer, Klara Lidén, Anish Kapoor, and Rosemarie Trockel in the heart of Cologne.
Every two years, a curator is invited to explore current questions and emerging developments in contemporary sculpture within the framework of KölnSkulptur. The public park is a unique venue at the dynamic interface between urban life and nature, providing a platform for internationally acclaimed artists to create new works that are intimately tied to the exhibition’s distinctive context, and the special location between the Rhine River, Cologne Zoo, and the Flora and Botanical Garden Cologne.
Skulpturenpark Köln was founded in 1997 on the initiative of Eleonore and Michael Stoffel. It is conceived as an open-air museum, presenting both the collection and changing exhibitions within the KölnSkulptur series. The park is free of charge during opening hours and is open 365 days a year.
Opening on June 23rd at 11am, the “KölnSkulptur #11 – Body Manoeuvres” exhibition runs from 2024 to 2026. Curated by Nikola Dietrich, it features eight esteemed contemporary artists and their interpretation of natural, cultural, and social forces on the body. The exhibition takes place at Skulpturenpark Köln, a renowned outdoor museum. The park, located at Elsa-Brändström-Straße 9, 50668 Köln, Germany, opens daily as per the schedule.
