“HERS” at Bios: Eliane Roumié’s choreographic work captures the female experience in the contemporary urban environment

1 min read

“HERS”, conceived and choreographed by Eliane Roumié, will be presented at Bios from 4 to 7 June 2026.

“HERS” draws inspiration from the narratives of women coming from different social, generational, and cultural backgrounds. Their realities intersect, forming a polyphonic landscape of experiences.

The work takes as its starting point the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which functions as a reference point running through the choreography via personal testimonies. Within these accounts, rights shift from the institutional and abstract into the realm of lived experience – where they are tested in everyday life and inscribed onto the body.

Through small, unseen moments of intimacy and familiarity, “HERS” captures the female experience within the contemporary urban environment, where silent tensions, social pressures, and gender expectations emerge.
