Release Athens 2026 welcomes Moby on Wednesday, July 1st, at Plateia Nerou. The American superstar – one of the most iconic figures in electronic music — returns to touring and the global music stage, promising a spectacular show filled with the greatest hits of his career.

If there’s one thing that defines Moby, it’s his fearless creativity and constant experimentation. From his early days in punk bands to his ventures into ambient soundscapes, speed metal tracks, and of course, his era-defining dance anthems, Moby has never stopped exploring new musical paths.

It all began with “Go” (1991) — built around a sample from Angelo Badalamenti’s Twin Peaks soundtrack – a track that became a timeless anthem. He followed it with “Everything Is Wrong”, the album that cemented his place as a leading figure in electronic music. But the true turning point came with “Play” (1999), the record that transformed him into a global pop icon. Blending blues and gospel samples with electronica, Moby created tracks like “Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?” and “Natural Blues”, bringing dance music into the mainstream in a way that had never been done before.

From there, Moby kept evolving. “18” (2002) built on Play’s success, while “Hotel” (2005) was recorded live in the studio, without samples, showcasing an artist constantly pushing forward. With his side project Moby & The Void Pacific Choir, he released “These Systems Are Failing” (2016) – an industrial electropunk album pulsing with energy and political edge — the same year he unveiled “Long Ambients 1: Calm. Sleep.”, a four-hour ambient record designed for meditation and rest, proving his endless curiosity and range as a musician.
