Athens Music Week (AMW) returns for its eighth edition, from May 6 to 9, once again transforming Athens into a vibrant meeting point for the international music industry, creators, and the city’s audiences. Over the course of four days, AMW hosts presentations, panel discussions, networking events, and showcase concerts, bringing together artists, professionals, and organizations from across the music ecosystem. With more than 180 invited industry guests and dozens of acts from Greece and abroad, the festival continues to operate as a dynamic platform for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and new collaborations.
At the heart of this year’s edition is the evolution of the music ecosystem in Europe and beyond, at the intersection of creativity, technology, and community. In a time of constant change, AMW highlights music not only as an art form but also as a field of innovation, collaboration, and growth. Particular emphasis is placed on topics such as digital transformation, new technologies in music creation, as well as emerging models of education, professional development, and live performance.

Within this framework, and with the participation of European networks such as the Federation of Music Conferences (FoMC) and the Music Tech Europe Association, as well as initiatives like SONIC – Interreg Europe, supported by the Hellenic Film, Audiovisual Media and Creative Center (EKKOMED), and in collaboration with organizations such as AI Pharos, the Hellenic Copyright Organization (OPI), and other representatives of the local music ecosystem, the conference programme opens up the dialogue around the present and future of the sector on a national, regional, and European level.

With this in mind, Athens Music Week collaborates this year with the Goethe-Institut Athen, strengthening the international dimension of the event and creating a meaningful framework for connection between the Greek and German music and creative scenes. Through this partnership, contemporary issues such as diversity, digital cultural production, and European collaboration are brought to the forefront. For this reason, the Goethe-Institut Athen will host the conference programme, while parallel events and concerts will take place in selected venues across the city.
As every year, music itself and the experience it creates remain at the core of Athens Music Week. AMW shapes an open and dynamic meeting space where artists, professionals, policymakers, entrepreneurs, as well as the public and music lovers of the city, connect, exchange ideas and experiences, and build new collaborations. Through this vibrant community, AMW fosters interaction, knowledge-sharing, and creative exchange, bringing together different facets of the music ecosystem.
For this year, the first announcements include artists such as Melina (GR/FR), who moves between cinematic pop and Mediterranean influences, The Dionysians with their Greek-language garage rock, and Lefty, one of the rising voices of the contemporary urban scene, as well as international acts such as 505 (IT/DE), a Berlin-based duo blending electronica, jazz, and trip hop, Lucy Dreams (AT), combining dreampop and synth-driven electronica, and Foehn (FR), offering a contemporary take on electronic jazz.
In the conference section, speakers in this year’s programme include internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti (UK), Pan Pan, a comic artist, illustrator, and musician who merges storytelling, image, and sound, DJ and producer Autow Nite Superstore, Oliver Czeslik (DE), a screenwriter and producer bridging cinema with immersive storytelling and XR/VR experiences, as well as Christian Cleret (FR), who brings extensive experience in festival organization and international artist development.
More announcements regarding artists, speakers, and the full programme are being added daily on the Athens Music Week website. The detailed programme of the event will be announced in early April.
