Summer Evenings Return to Nōema

3 mins read

From May 15, it once again shines a light on landscapes, hospitality, and traditions, bringing people together.

A new summer chapter begins at Nōema, once again welcoming visitors from around the world to experience the essence of contemporary Cycladic hospitality. Hidden within the narrow alleys of Mykonos Town, Nōema reveals itself through its secret courtyard: a vibrant meeting place where authenticity, sincerity, and the joy of togetherness take center stage.

Nōema is an expression of the Cycladic way of life-a return to the roots of Mykonian traditions and a tribute to the island’s genuine spirit, where community, storytelling, and unpretentious enjoyment once defined summer. As the sun sets and the courtyard fills with the sounds of conversation and music, Nōema reveals another dimension: an effortless energy that carries guests from dinner into the warmth of the Aegean night. Without excess yet full of rhythm, without nostalgia yet deeply inspired by tradition, the focus shifts from appearance to essence, creating an atmosphere that feels both timeless and alive.

Life Around the Courtyard

From early evening until late at night, life at Nōema revolves around the Courtyard, the open-air setting where food, drinks, and music naturally coexist, and every moment unfolds at the pace of the night. Dedicated to its guests, Nōema opens this season with even more seating, further enhancing the intimate and experiential feeling of the courtyard. Defined by understated Cycladic aesthetics and natural textures, the space radiates effortless elegance-a setting designed to host, connect, and encourage guests to linger a little longer.

Music remains an integral part of the experience, curated with the same care and intention that defines every aspect of Nōema. An exceptional lineup of artists and DJs shapes the atmosphere each evening, organically building the energy from sunset until late into the night. The season opens on May 15 with a celebratory evening featuring the distinctive Greek electro-meets-folk group Re:Kültura, setting the tone for the summer months ahead.

Contemporary Greek Cuisine Rooted in Seasonality

In the kitchen, under the culinary direction of Athinagoras Kostakos and with the daily care of Head Chef Panos Tsikas, Nōema continues to evolve a contemporary approach to Greek cuisine, always guided by seasonality and the freshest ingredients of the day. Together with the team, they create a menu designed for sharing at the center of the table, highlighting local produce and traditional techniques that honor Greece and the cycles of nature.

Among the raw dishes and starters, standout plates include the award-winning Tuna Dome with truffle, garum, and caviar-recognized as one of the world’s top tuna dishes at the Chef Balfegó 2025 competition-as well as Koilada shrimp ceviche and oysters with spicy watermelon sauce.

The starters include blue crab salad, grilled octopus, calamari with fresh onion chimichurri, beef carpaccio with wild artichoke and aged graviera cheese, as well as the famous smoked tarama with sun-dried tomato and carob rusk powder, alongside several new additions that refresh the menu.

For the main courses, fire and seasonality take center stage, with options such as grilled sea bream, crab pasta, and meat dishes including lamb souvlaki with yogurt and ladolemono sauce, slow-cooked beef cheeks with orzo and truffle, and pork served with grilled peaches.

Desserts draw inspiration from the Greek landscape: the signature tiramisu with carob and Greek coffee, almond cake with salted caramel, and handcrafted ice creams such as Aegina pistachio with black salt and olive oil, alongside a variety of sorbet flavors. Pastry Chef Spyros Artelaris has carefully designed them to leave a lasting memory, making it essential to save room for the end of the meal.

Wine & Cocktail Program

The wine list is a journey through both renowned and lesser-explored terroirs, featuring an extensive curated selection from Greece and around the world. Alongside rare discoveries, guests will also find remarkable fine wines, iconic labels, and exceptional vintages distinguished by their depth and elegance.

At the bar, the same philosophy extends to the cocktail list, which highlights Greek ingredients through unexpected yet balanced combinations that capture the essence of the space.

Raw yet refined, spontaneous yet intentional, Nōema remains a place where summer finds its true meaning-a place where time moves more slowly, connections deepen, and every evening unfolds effortlessly.
