Press Shuffle: SNFCC Youth Council curates a music night without borders

Live performances by Karakou and Rosadenia, plus a DJ set by DEERISLND, invite audiences to embrace unexpected sounds and discover music beyond genres at the Stavros Niarchos Park.

What happens when you stop choosing what to listen to and let the unexpected take over? That is the idea behind “Press Shuffle”, a music event organised by the fourth generation of the SNFCC Youth Council, taking place on Thursday, 23 July at 20:00 in the Pine Grove of Stavros Niarchos Park.

Rather than following a single musical direction, the evening embraces contrast. Two live performances by Karakou and Rosadenia, followed by a DJ set from DEERISLND, create a programme where genres intersect and unexpected combinations become part of the experience. It is an invitation to encounter music you might never have searched for-but instantly connect with.

The event also reflects the manifesto of the current SNFCC Youth Council, which champions authenticity, diversity and collective expression over the pursuit of perfection. Built around the values of inclusion, equality and accessibility, “Press Shuffle” encourages audiences to focus on those rare moments when a melody or a voice unexpectedly captures their attention.

The SNFCC Youth Council brings together thirty young people aged 16 to 25 who curate an independent programme of events as part of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center’s annual activities. Selected through an open call, the group gives young people the opportunity to shape cultural programming that reflects the interests, concerns and aspirations of their generation.

Musically, the line-up is as eclectic as the event’s concept. Karakou blends contemporary Greek songwriting with folk influences, while Rosadenia moves between modern pop and traditional sounds through original compositions and inventive reinterpretations. Closing the night, DEERISLND explores melodic house and techno, combining atmospheric passages with energetic electronic rhythms.
