CITRONNE Gallery: Summer program in Poros with two parallel exhibitions

1 min read

CITRONNE Gallery inaugurates its summer program in Poros with two parallel exhibitions.

In the gallery space, it presents the exhibition “Mythistories“. Against the backdrop of the “Mare Nostrum” Mediterranean, nine visual artists recreate selective fragments of History and Myth, transposing them into today’s reality. Historical events, under the weight of time, acquire a mythical dimension. Myth, originally a metaphysical interpretation of natural phenomena, becomes a historical fact when it is used to provoke or even justify human activity and establish adventure.

At the Archaeological Museum of Poros, it presents the solo exhibition “Fragments” by Alexandra Athanasiadis, in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus and Islands. Taking as her starting point pieces and fragments of random finds, material and immaterial, the artist recreates her historical as well as personal memory and places it among the Museum’s exhibits.
