1 min read

For the third year in a row, the Athens Concert Hall’s great jazz festival will offer audiences the opportunity to attend exciting concerts by renowned Greek and international musicians (10-20.11.2024). The curtain will rise on this year’s Jazz@Megaron on Sunday 10 November at 20:30 with the Marcin Wasilewski Trio, which has included Athens in its thirtieth anniversary world tour.

Pianist Marcin Wasilewski, double-bassist Slawomir Kurkiewicz and drummer Michał Miśkiewicz are coming to the Concert Hall to delight jazz fans with their creative ideas, the product of musical understanding and the long-standing cohabitation of its members on stage.

The extraordinarily talented musicians who make up the Marcin Wasilewski Trio are distinguished by their musical intelligence, their innate talent for improvisation and their unique communication with the audience. Since 1994, the award-winning Polish trio has enjoyed an impressive career on the international jazz scene, with a rich discography – including seven albums on the pioneering German label ECM Records – and collaborations with top names such as Grammy-winning saxophonist Joe Lovano and the legendary Charles Lloyd.

The performance of the Marcin Wasilewski Trio at the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall as part of Jazz@Megaron is supported by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport of the Republic of Poland, in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Greece.
