Celebrate Maria Callas’s legacy at the Maria Callas Museum with free admission to the permanent exhibition on 2 December and an open street party on 5 December. Music, cocktails, discounts and a celebration of the eternal diva

The Maria Callas Museum of the City of Athens celebrates once again the birth anniversary of the iconic soprano (2 December 1923) with the brightest, most vibrant tradition: a large street party right in the heart of the city!
On Friday, 5 December, from 20:00 onwards, Petraki Street -just behind the Museum- lights up with festive energy, music, and rhythm for the third edition of a party that has already become an annual favourite. This year’s CALLAS LIVES ON: THE PARTY! promises another night full of surprises and great music, honouring the timeless legacy of Maria Callas.
In collaboration with Kosmos 93.6, music will be curated by Michalis Kamakas, who will deliver a specially crafted DJ set blending groovy funk–disco vibes with select world-music touches.
La Divina café, will be serving fine wines from “Remake Wines”, drinks, and cocktails at special prices. The museum shop will offer exclusive one-night-only discounts on selected items perfect for gifts or collectors.
Throughout the evening, guests will also have the chance to visit the permanent exhibition of the Maria Callas Museum with reduced general admission.

Two events with a shared purpose to open the doors to the world and legacy of Maria Callas, and to honour her timeless brilliance.

2 December – Free admission to the permanent exhibition

On Maria Callas’s birthday, the Museum welcomes visitors with free entry for all. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the life and artistry of the legendary soprano through an interactive exhibition featuring rare personal belongings, costumes, handwritten notes, recordings, photographs and archival material – each one shedding light on her myth, voice and influence.

5 December – CALLAS LIVES ON: THE PARTY! vol. 3

Three days later, the festivities spill onto Petraki Street! The rear façade of the Museum comes to life once again with music, dancing and sparkling moments, for the third edition of the now-beloved open-air street party.

Michalis Kamakas (Kosmos 93.6) delivers a groovy funk–disco DJ set infused with world-music blends, while the museum’s café La Divina serves wines, drinks and signature cocktails at special prices. The museum shop joins the celebration with exclusive offers, and throughout the evening the permanent exhibition remains open with reduced admission.
