Charles Lloyd shares the stage with Maria Farantouri at Odeon of Herodes Atticus

1 min read

The jazz musician Charles Lloyd returns to Greece to share the stage once again with Maria Farantouri, a decade and a half after the “Athens Concert”, which captivated the Odeon of Herodes Atticus audience in 2010, and was released shortly afterwards on a hugely successful album.

The American saxophonist and composer, who has just celebrated his 86th birthday with the release of his new album The Sky Will Still Be There Tomorrow, brings to the Roman Odeon three soloists: Jason Moran on the piano, Larry Grenadier on the double bass and Eric Harland on the drums. The paths of jazz meet with Greek musical tradition and Mikis Theodorakis in a concert of musical amalgams.
