Three nights filled with sounds, rhythms, and borderless dialogues. The Jazzèt – 2nd Hellenic International Jazz Festival returns to the magical setting of the Petra Theater, July 20–21–22, featuring artists from Greece and abroad. A jazz festival – and more – that celebrates music as a bridge between worlds.
A festival where jazz serves as a medium for dialogue and connection, transcending geographic and musical boundaries. This vision is captured in this year’s motto: Jazz Beyond Frontiers – Music that Connects Worlds.
With its unique atmosphere and breathtaking view of the city, Petra Theater once again hosts the festival. At the height of summer, under the Attic sky, music takes on a special pulse – more open, more vibrant, more collective. The festival is also a celebration: of music, its creators, and the audience that comes together in shared experience.
Three days, seven ensembles, artists from Greece and around the world form this year’s lineup:
Sunday, July 20
The opening night begins with Bag of Nails, a blues-based band with modern rock energy. They are followed by the Espen Berg Trio from Norway, a piano trio known for its combination of virtuosity, lyricism, and contemporary aesthetics.

Monday, July 21
The evening kicks off with North Side Trio, a fresh ensemble representing the new wave of the Greek improvisational scene. Next is Enosis Quartet, a group of musicians from Greece, Sweden, and Finland, navigating the landscape of modern European jazz. The night closes with Human Touch, a landmark group in the Greek jazz scene featuring David Lynch, Yiotis Kiourtsoglou, and Stavros Lantsias, presenting their new album Colorblind.
Tuesday, July 22
Lefteris Christofis Trio presents a dynamic fusion project bridging electric jazz with Greek melodic sensibilities, featuring Lakis Tzimkas and Kostas Anastasiadis. The festival concludes with the premiere of Dwiki Dharmawan’s Athenian Ensemble featuring Gilad Atzmon, an ensemble that weaves together elements from Indonesia, the Mediterranean, and the UK jazz scene.

With artistic direction by Lefteris Christofis and festival presentation by jazz radio host Ilan, the Jazzèt Festival is not solely aimed at jazz aficionados. It welcomes anyone interested in live music as a space of coexistence. If you’ve never attended a jazz concert before, this is the perfect opportunity for your first experience.
