The 4th Gastronomy Festival of the Municipality of Piraeus returns with strength from September 25 to 28, filling the city with aromas and flavors inspired by the sea.
The PIRAEUS TASTE FESTIVAL, Sea Food and More has now established itself as a key institution for gastronomy in Greece, highlighting the unique identity of Piraeus and transforming the great port into a hub of maritime gastronomy and creativity.
The festival blends traditional and contemporary flavors with cultural events and international participation, offering visitors the chance to discover the city. From Mikrolimano to Peiraiki, from Korai Square to Zea Marina and Pasalimani, every corner of Piraeus becomes a meeting point for flavors, creativity, and experiences. Award-winning chefs and masters from Greece and abroad present unique creations that marry tradition with contemporary gourmet cuisine. Visitors will have the chance to savor exclusive seafood recipes and innovative dishes made with local products, where knowledge and expertise meet gastronomic inspiration.
The PIRAEUS TASTE FESTIVAL, Sea Food and More kicks off on Thursday, September 25, at the iconic Mikrolimano and continues with a rich program of events in central parts of the city, strengthening the connection between gastronomy, culture, and the region’s touristic appeal.

At the same time, from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, October 5, Pasalimani hosts the Piraeus Taste Fair, a large exhibition of gastronomic products from across Greece. The exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to discover select products, meet producers, and take part in tastings that showcase the variety and quality of Greek gastronomy.
The festival is not limited to culinary enjoyment: it places special emphasis on sustainability, proper management of food and natural resources, and the promotion of the Zero Food Waste message. In this way, it positions Piraeus as a modern, sustainable, and outward-looking city that combines tradition, innovation, and environmental awareness.

Festival Opening Ceremony
MIKROLIMANO | Thursday, September 25, 19:00
The gastronomic journey begins at Mikrolimano, in an evening full of flavors, aromas, and live experiences. Locals and visitors will enjoy live cooking shows inspired by the maritime identity of Piraeus. The evening culminates with the presence of two-Michelin-starred chef Thanos Feskos, who will create unique gastronomic proposals highlighting Greek creativity and innovation. The evening’s musical accompaniment will be provided by the Enchord String Quartet.
CINEMA ON A PLATE

Unique recipes, live cooking shows, and tastings of exquisite dishes await young and old alike at Korai Square, combined with screenings of beloved films at the open-air cinema.

A multicultural gastronomic event with tastings and interactive activities for all ages will take place on Saturday, September 27, at 11:00, at Korai Square. Six chefs, in collaboration between the Municipality of Piraeus and the embassies of Vietnam, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, China, Panama, and Romania, will offer the public culinary creations with unique exotic flavors from their homelands, using traditional techniques and secrets. The cultural program includes traditional dance and music performances from the participating countries. Artists in traditional costumes will present impressive dances and musical ensembles, creating a warm and multicultural atmosphere.
FESTIVAL OF SPAROS (Sea Bream)
Aphrodite’s Bay, Peiraiki | Saturday, September 27, 20:30
Peiraiki honors its tradition and invites everyone to the great “Festival of Sparos,” an authentic island-style feast that revives the old fishermen’s celebration of the area. The event takes place on Saturday, September 27, at 20:30, at Aphrodite’s Bay, as part of the Piraeus Taste Festival: Sea Food and More, in collaboration with the Amateur Fishermen’s Club Agios Nikolaos. The Cultural Club Dodoni also participates. Fresh fish will be grilled on open coals, accompanied by traditional meze and wine for locals and visitors alike. The evening will culminate in a large traditional island feast with live music by Matthaios Giannoulis, Maria Nomikou, and a group of musicians.
KIDS COOKING PARTY
Korai Square | Sunday, September 28, 11:00–14:00
On Sunday, September 28, Korai Square transforms into a joyful workshop of flavors. Children will discover kitchen ingredients and learn their proper use through a journey of play and creativity. Interactive activities, competitions, games, and wonderful gifts promise an unforgettable experience full of taste and joy. Joining them will be chef Christos Moiras.
Participation in the children’s workshops will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

FESTIVAL OF TSIKOUDIA
Papanikoli Square, Zea Marina | Sunday, September 28, 20:30
Authentic Cretan culinary tradition comes to life at the “Festival of Tsikoudia,” in collaboration between the Municipality of Piraeus and the Cretan Brotherhood of Piraeus Omonia, on Sunday, September 28, at Zea Marina. A night full of flavors, aromas, and music with Cretan tradition’s leading figure Manolis Kontaros. Visitors will experience the distillation process with traditional rakokazana (distillation cauldrons), enjoy abundant tsikoudia, and taste free meze and authentic Cretan dishes prepared on the spot.
PIRAEUS TASTE FAIR

Pasalimani transforms into a grand celebration of distinctive flavors from all over Greece, hosting the Piraeus Taste Fair from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, October 5. A unique exhibition dedicated to the tastes of our country, featuring traditional products from every corner of Greece, fine delicatessen and gourmet proposals, and Greek superfoods that are increasingly becoming part of contemporary diets. Visitors will have the chance to wander among aromas, flavors, and distinctive ingredients, meet producers, sample authentic creations, and discover new gastronomic experiences.
