25 Years of Athens Jazz: One Festival, Countless Stories

1 min read

Athens Jazz at the Technopolis City of Athens turns 25 – and it’s not simply celebrating the milestone; it’s turning it into rhythm. The country’s largest jazz festival, a landmark event for both the Greek and international jazz scene, marks 25 years of sound, musical exploration and moments that have shaped the pulse of the city. Twenty-five years with jazz at its core, exactly as it should be: free, restless and unpredictable.

This year, the anniversary is not celebrated only through music – it is reflected in every image, every beat and every corner of Technopolis, filling the heart of the city with sound, colour and energy. In this celebration, everything begins with the symbol itself. The festival’s iconic logo transforms through a visual jam session of images, textures and ideas – constant at its core, yet liberated in its expression.

The visual identity of the 25th Athens Jazz preserves the form, memory and spirit of the festival while dressing it in 25 different textures: 25 visual statements, 25 variations, 25 stories. Each expresses a different mood, each revealing a different facet of jazz. From vintage to future, from raw to digital, from handcrafted to three-dimensional. Just like jazz itself, Athens Jazz is never the same – yet it is always instantly recognisable. Over the past 25 years, the festival has built a strong identity that continues to evolve through musical proposals that always have something new to say.

This spirit of constant evolution is reflected in the 25th edition, which arrives more daring, outward-looking and vibrant than ever. An international and eclectic programme that crosses borders and redefines the boundaries of jazz will once again take the stage at Technopolis, while the Greek Night – as always – retains a special place in the festival. For this celebratory year, however, its format changes: the stage will be handed over to leading artists from previous editions of Athens Jazz, presenting two unique projects.

From 25 to 31 May 2026, the anniversary edition of Athens Jazz arrives to honour everything that came before, celebrate everything happening now and open the path to what lies ahead. The festival’s line-up and parallel events will be announced soon.

Athens Jazz turns 25 and plays louder than ever. Stay tuned!
