Immerse yourself in the “world” of abstract painting and drawing of an unrealistic reality

Technochoros Art Gallery kicks off the new art season with the solo exhibition “What the Wind Brings” by Magda Asteris. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Friday 11th October at 17.30.

Magda Asteri has been exploring the path of abstraction for many years. Using canvas and bright colours as her medium, she immerses herself in the “world” of abstract painting, drawing the viewer into an unrealistic reality. The art of abstraction stimulates the imagination and leads the mind and soul down an unconventional path, understanding more than what the naked eye can see. The artist is best placed to introduce you to the magical world of the unreal, or even lead you to more intimate discoveries, for the way we perceive art is different and reveals our personal experiences. The aim is for the viewer to leave the exhibition with intense emotions.

The artist herself says of the exhibition: “Painting, whether figurative or abstract, exudes mood, atmosphere. Colour gives energy, appetite, mood, emotion. It serves our sense of things. We paint it, not things. It flows through us. It’s a current, a tendency that dominates you. You let it take you,” and goes on to say, “Abstract painting lends itself perfectly to this. Without the need for an identifiable object. The emotion arises without it. But a new, a new image is created. The mind rejoices in the new, the fresh. If possible, the painter himself should be surprised by the resulting picture! This is inexhaustible in abstraction. My intention is to enjoy what I do, to have fun. To discover. To come back by destroying a failed attempt so that, if I am lucky, something new will emerge. That’s where happiness lies”.
