1 min read

The Astor Cinema, presents a preview of two of the most anticipated films of the year:

The Beast on Tuseday 15/10 at 18.00 and 21.00 and The Apprentice on Wednesday 16/10 at 19.00 and 21.15

The Beast (2024), directed by Bertrand Bonello, is a blend of science fiction, horror, and romance, starring Léa Seydoux and George MacKay. The film is set across three timelines—1910, 2014, and 2044—where the two leads, Gabrielle (Seydoux) and Louis (MacKay), navigate complex emotional and existential crises across these periods.

“The Apprentice,” a film dramatizing Donald Trump’s rise in New York City real estate and his relationship with political power broker Roy Cohn, has found a distributor that will debut the film in the final stretch of the presidential election, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. Sebastian Stan stars as Trump and Jeremy Strong of “Succession” fame plays Cohn, one of the former president’s mentors.

“The Apprentice” premiered in May at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it immediately turned into a sociopolitical lightning rod.

The Astor Cinema

The Astor Cinema one of the oldest in our city, is located at number 28 of Stadiou Street (entrance from the Korai Gallery), in a building with a long history, inextricably linked to the 7th art, as the cinema has been operating since 1947, while the same spot has housed cinemas since 1908. Recently renovated, the brand new Astor, with its unique amphitheater and luxurious foyer, reopened on March 25, 2015, under the new management of distribution company Weird Wave and with a high quality program.

Under the motto “Back to the Future – Back to the Creator’s Cinema”, Astor Cinema highlights first-run films that renew our narratives. Films from all over the world, from established filmmakers and emerging directors worth experiencing, all selected from the biggest festivals worldwide. A new space and a new concept of what cinema means is here, surrounded by the best festivals of Athens and organizing shows alongside or in the middle of the programme.
