“Bitter Chocolate” by Alexandros Skouras to Premiere at the 28th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival

Bitter Chocolate, directed by Alexandros Skouras and produced by elc productions, will have its world premiere at the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival as part of its 28th edition. The screening will take place at the John Cassavetes Theater on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 18:00.

Online screenings will be available from March 8 at 10:00 a.m. via the festival’s digital platform (available until the limit of 500 views is reached).

Synopsis

In a traditional cocoa-farming community in Ghana, the implementation of an organic cultivation scheme by a European entrepreneur of African descent tests the internal power dynamics of the community, as well as the dreams of young farmers who long to escape to Europe.
