Jazz at the Museum is a concert series dedicated to exploring various jazz movements.
The new season of the Goulandris Jazz at the Museum concert series, titled “Jazz Interactions,” kicks off on Friday, October 4. This year’s theme explores the various ways jazz music interacts with other art forms, with the opening performance featuring the Workin’ Trio, led by Charis Ioannou, in a show titled “The Two Sides of Charis Ioannou.”
The Workin’ Trio will perform music from jazz’s golden era of the mid-20th century at the B&E Goulandris Foundation Amphitheatre. The ensemble includes Charis Ioannou on saxophone, Christos Gerolatsitis on Hammond organ, and Marios Spyrou on drums, offering interpretations of compositions by Thelonious Monk, Bud Powell, and Lou Donaldson, along with orchestral arrangements of American Songbook classics, adapted to the unique sound of the Organ Trio.
Formed in early 2020, the Workin’ Trio developed its sound through weekly jam sessions during the pandemic. In addition to his music career, Charis Ioannou is an avid black-and-white street photographer. During the concert, his photographic work from the past four years will be on display, adding a visual dimension to the performance.

About the “Jazz at the Museum” Concert Series
The B&E Goulandris Foundation presents Jazz at the Museum, a concert series dedicated to exploring various jazz movements. Once a month, jazz and visual arts come together at the Museum to take audiences on a musical journey through the rich history of the genre. These performances, held at the Goulandris Foundation Amphitheatre, are curated by the distinguished jazz artist Dimitris Tsakas.
This season, under the theme Jazz Interactions, artists and ensembles will delve into the unique ways jazz intersects with other art forms. The series opens with Harris Ioannou’s Workin’ Trio on October 4 and continues with a dynamic lineup, including Michalis Brouzos Trio (Brotherhood, November 8), Dimitris and Nestoras Vassilakis (Father & Son, December 27), Dimitris Tsakas Trio (Genesis, January 17), Harris Lambrakis Quartet (The Art of Humble Materials and Music, February 7), and Petros Klampanis (Rooftop Stories, March 28).
