CTRL+τ: Dominika Jezewska : 3a

CTRL+τ is an initiative that aims to support emerging artists from Greece and abroad, to develop their artistic practice by creating a work in progress. Throughout the year and for a specific period, different artists occupy the exhibition space and social media of T.A.F., working on the idea of CTRL+τ with total freedom in terms of methodology and visual media. Visitors can visit the T.A.F. space (studio visit) and see the artists in action. While at the end of the program a presentation of the completed work will be given.

“3am” is a multi-sensory installation that blurs the boundaries between dreams and reality, exploring the fleeting moments of intimacy and longing that exist in the subconscious. It delves into the realm of possibilities that emerge in the hazy space between waking and sleeping, where fantasies take shape and emotions are heightened.

The installation utilizes poetry, AI generated videos, sound, and scent. A love story that exists on the threshold between dreamy and real, something that could never be, but is. Did it happen or was it a dream? The excitement, doubt, pleasure, getting lost in the moment, but having to withdraw at the very last second. It’s all there, forever etched in your memory, a happy one, but did it actually happen or was it just a figment of your imagination, a captivating daydream?

3am explores the themes of romantic infatuation, fantasies, and love. By engaging in the senses, playing on the imagination and the power of things left unsaid it further enhances the dreamlike fantasy state. It explores all the contradictory feelings often experienced in connection with romantic situations in the era of the internet and the ever-present overstimulation of the senses.

Dominika will be working to visually capture the threshold between conscious-ness and sleep, where reality blurs and emotions are heightened into the phys-ical space of the gallery. By experimenting with light fabrics, projections, sound, scent, and light she will be exploring and creating a fantasy world pocket where it all comes together in a labyrinth of feeling, encapsulating a physical manifes-tation of the romantic daydream.
