The renowned interpreter of Brazilian music, Miranda Verouli, returns to the stage of the Theatre of the NO on Saturday, January 31 at 22:30, for a unique musical journey inviting us to celebrate Carnival through the sounds, rhythms and melodies of Brazil.
Together with the outstanding musicians of her band, Miranda Verouli presents a high-energy program featuring songs by legendary composers such as Antônio Carlos Jobim, Sergio Mendes and Caetano Veloso, as well as beloved traditional pieces. The result is an irresistible atmosphere that sweeps the audience into dancing – as if transported to the beaches, nightclubs and streets of Rio de Janeiro, in the heart of the world’s most famous Carnival.
Miranda Verouli is a singer and songwriter with a long-standing presence in the Greek jazz and world music scene. Her collaborations with local musicians during her extended stays in Brazil, combined with her jazz background, have given her performances a rare authenticity in interpreting Brazilian repertoire.
Recognized as the “Ambassador” of Brazilian music in Greece, Miranda Verouli was honored in 2018 by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Knight’s Medal of the Order of Rio Branco, in recognition of her contribution to promoting Brazilian music in Greece.
