DJ Krush comes all the way from Japan to take the stage at Arch Club

DJ Krush, the legendary Japanese producer and DJ who helped shape the sound of the global trip-hop scene, takes over the decks at Arch Club for an electrifying DJ set, with special guests Moderator (Live) and Stiko, on Wednesday, September 24.

Hideaki Ishi – his real name – began DJing in the early ’80s, inspired by the film “Wild Style”, and has been evolving ever since, refusing to be confined by musical boxes or labels: trip-hop, ambient, experimental, hip-hop – they all feel limiting to him. What he creates is pure sound artistry, raw and unfiltered. And he does it with a deep sense of the underground – as he himself says: “The underground is more interesting. That’s where I belong.”

His debut album, “Krush” (1994), is now considered a landmark in the genre, and his journey has established him as one of the most influential beatmakers worldwide. With atmospheric beats, nature-inspired sounds, and samples drawn from soul and jazz, DJ Krush has crafted a sound entirely his own.
