THEATRE OF THE NO, Athens first English theatre, presents the contemporary lyrical folk ensemble “Φaretra Crystalina” on Saturday 1st February at 22.30. This pioneering ensemble will perform selections from their debut EP, featuring transformative arrangements of traditional Greek songs, including their latest video release, Lianohortaroudia.

Φaretra Crystalina captivates audiences with a vibrant and eclectic repertoire, seamlessly blending Mediterranean and Latin American melodiesCeltic tunes, and iconic Greek traditional masterpieces. With their lyrical voices, intricate polyphony, innovative arrangements, and original compositions, the ensemble bridges the timeless beauty of tradition with the vibrancy and dynamism of modernity.

Their performances combine the lyricism of classical and the roots, the truth and harshness of traditional melodies with a sparkling rock dynamism. 

Their performances merge the brilliance of lyrical song with the earthy archetypes of rural music, creating evocative soundscapes filled with vocal virtuosity and the rich colours of traditional and classical instruments.
