Art Athina 2025 brings together 72 galleries from Greece and beyond

With the participation of 72 galleries from Greece and abroad and a rich parallel program, Art Athina 2025 is preparing to welcome art lovers at the historic exhibition venue of the Zappeion Megaron, from September 18 to 22, 2025. The largest annual visual arts event in Greece and one of the oldest art fairs in Europe, Art Athina is organized by the Hellenic Art Galleries Association.

As every year, Art Athina 2025 will offer the public the opportunity to engage with contemporary artistic production from galleries in Greece and abroad. Its main axis is the highlighting and recording of new artistic trends, concerns, and developments in contemporary art, with an enhanced presence of design and with events both inside and outside the Zappeion exhibition venue.

Antonis Kourkoulos returns as General Director for the third consecutive year, while individual sections are, as always, curated by independent curators.

Program Highlights

• Main: Galleries from Greece and abroad present their proposals. The full list of participants follows.
• Design: A section curated by Tina Daskalantonaki and Manthos Kaloumenos, featuring galleries active in contemporary design with an emphasis on traditional techniques.
• Projects: Independent art spaces and non-profit cultural organizations, curated by Odette Kouzou.
• Performance: In collaboration with Flux Laboratory, Nikolas Vamvouklis curates the performance program, to be presented both inside and outside the Zappeion.

Special emphasis this year is placed on the Art Athina Art for Tomorrow Talks Powered by TATOÏ Club—a new series of public discussions and exchanges of ideas on contemporary art. These talks aim to bring artists, cultural pioneers, thinkers, and activists into dialogue about the role of art in shaping the future. They are co-curated by Marilena Koutsoukou, Development Director of Art Athina, and Kim Conniff Taber, Editorial Director of Art for Tomorrow. The discussions will be moderated by senior journalists from The New York Times.

For the fourth year, the Art Athina Award for a Young Artist will continue, aiming to support artistic creation. The award is organized in collaboration with MOMus – Alex Mylona Museum, one of the five museums of the Metropolitan Organisation of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki (MOMus).
