From July 17 to 19, Jazzèt Music Hall presents a three-day programme celebrating contemporary jazz through a series of live performances by emerging and established musicians, while also marking the closing of the visual art exhibition Eikos at the venue’s Artega Gallery.

New Jazz Artists Sessions: Mari-Souzan Mouzela & Orett

Friday, July 17 | 10:00 pm

The New Jazz Artists Sessions continue on Friday, July 17 with Sonic Journey: Traces of Jazz, Soul and R&B, a performance by vocalist, violinist and performer Mari-Souzan Mouzela alongside pianist, harpsichordist and composer Orett.

The two artists create an intimate dialogue between music, poetry and theatrical storytelling, presenting iconic songs and timeless jazz standards arranged for voice and piano, with selected pieces featuring violin. Drawing inspiration from the traditions of jazz, soul and R&B, the performance explores not only the musical richness of these genres but also the human stories behind them.

Poetic texts and narrative interludes are woven into the programme, inviting audiences on an immersive journey where sound, memory and emotion coexist in a contemporary artistic experience.

Admission: €10 | Minimum consumption: €6

New Jazz Artists Sessions: Nestor Vasilakis & His British Quartet

Saturday, July 18 | 10:00 pm

On Saturday, July 18, Jazzèt Music Hall welcomes internationally acclaimed Greek saxophonist Nestor Vasilakis and his British Quartet for their first performance together in Greece.

Based in London, Vasilakis has established a strong presence on the international jazz scene through collaborations with leading musicians and original compositions that combine contemporary jazz with elements of tradition and improvisation.

Joining him are some of the most promising young musicians from the UK’s vibrant jazz scene:

  • Nestor Vasilakis – tenor & soprano saxophones
  • Joseph Game – piano
  • Theo Hayhurst – drums
  • James Leaver-Whitfield – double bass

The evening’s repertoire features original compositions, lyrical fusion-inspired ballads and inventive interpretations of jazz standards, showcasing the quartet’s virtuosity, creativity and dynamic improvisation.

Admission: €12 | Minimum consumption: €6

Art of Duo

Sunday, July 19 | 9:00 pm

The weekend concludes with Art of Duo, featuring guitarists Tasos Symeonidis and Giorgos Koutsikoulis, whose collaboration began during a jazz jam session in 2022 and has since evolved into a distinctive musical partnership.

Inspired by legendary guitar duos including Bireli Lagrène & Sylvain Luc, Joe Pass & John Pisano, Joe Pass & Herb Ellis, and Billy Bean & John Pisano, the two musicians explore the expressive possibilities of two guitars functioning as a complete ensemble.

Their programme travels from Broadway standards and bebop classics to soul, pop and funk, transforming familiar melodies through refined arrangements, rich harmonies and spontaneous improvisation.

The concert offers an elegant celebration of the jazz guitar tradition while appealing equally to devoted jazz listeners and newcomers alike.

Admission: €10 | Minimum consumption: €6

Closing Event: Eikos by Lisa Waldner

Saturday, July 18 | 9:00 pm

Visitors are also invited to the closing event of Eikos, the solo exhibition by Vienna-based Austrian artist Lisa Waldner, presented at Artega Gallery, located within Jazzèt Music Hall.

Curated by art historian Aias Christofi, with an accompanying sound installation by composer Lefteris Sotiropoulos, the exhibition explores the ancient Greek concept of eikos-the probable or the plausible-as a way of perceiving both image and reality.

Waldner’s paintings emerge through fluid colour processes, folds and reflections, creating forms that hover between reality and appearance. Rather than presenting certainty, the works invite viewers into a space of possibility and interpretation. The immersive sound installation expands this experience, creating a unified environment where painting, sound and space interact.

Admission to the exhibition is free.
