Α journey of narratives, colours, rhythms and images that reflect his deepest psyche
Michael Manousakis presents the exhibition “Art Intelligence. A Retrospective as Half a Breath”, a multidimensional reference to his long artistic career, organised under the auspices of the Athens School of Fine Arts, the Ministry of Culture and OPANDA.
The exhibition, curated by Professor Panagiotis Pangalos, brings together around 200 works that express his personal anxieties, emotions and quests, spanning the period 1969-2024: old and new works – some of which are being shown for the first time – paintings, sculptures, installations, videos, games and works by friends. In the “Nikos Kessanlis” room of the ASFA, the artist captures his thoughts through a journey of narratives, colours, rhythms and images that reflect his deepest psyche.

With a theme that highlights the timeless values of returning to one’s roots, rebirth and everyday hope, Manousakis composes a visual and emotional experience. His work is a testimony of memory and personal moments, a journey between light and darkness.
The exhibition marks another milestone in his long career, as Michael Manousakis bids farewell to the Athens School of Fine Arts, where he was a permanent professor from 1987 to 2020. With this exhibition, Manousakis bows to his loves and passions, believing that none of it belongs to him and that everything is an opportunity for another, for a silent meeting of views on the time that has passed, on what we are living now and on what we still have to do, which is too much.
